So today was going to be a busy day. Mondays usually are; just busy. Everything was on track, my son woke up in a good mood for daycare (for a two year old, it's hit or miss), we said our prayers, asked God to bless our loved ones and started the day. I was not prepared to walk into work to find out that a co-worker's 1-month old grandbaby died after heart surgery. Now I do not know this person very well, but the fragility of life just felt like a sucker punched in the stomach and just confused.
I know we rarely acknowledge what God has spared us and our loved ones from, but even with the knowledge that this baby is now perfect, fully loved in the arms of God just doesn't I cannot help but delve into the sorrow that his mother must be feeling. From the moment of birthing your baby there is such a profound sense of love, purity, and protection for your child when they take their first breath that you never count on them taking their last before you do. It shook me to my core. I ask God often when things like this happen, "Where are you in this?" I rarely get an answer that I understand.
Trust me, the answers are there. In the Bible, in conversations with other people, in our silence... the answer is there. Rest in the Lord. Rest in His Love. Rest in the Lord for He is good, His mercy endures forever.... Read More

Today was a good and beautiful day in the world God has created "In the beginning...". The air was nice and the sky was blue. A perfect day. But i felt an emptiness inside. Something was missing that made me feel...well, not the same and whole. My father,... Read More
Family and I have been praying for about 6 months. I wish I could just have him with me and by my side like he was before months ago. He has been in the hospital ever since May of this year. Every weekend my mother tries her hardest and her best to see him every weekend to spend with him. She works so hard for something she wants. My mother is the person in my life aside from my father, who shows the most perseverance in my family.
People say their favorite superhero is Batman and Superman... mine is Superman but MARVEL hero. The hero in my life that helps me when life throws obstacles, the one who lifts me up when i fall and need help..... is my FATHER. HE is MY SUPERHERO. God is my savior is my life and has given me the most wonderful thing I can ever ask for, a family and wonderful parents who love and care for me.
I ask for anyone who reads this to pray for my family and father. May God bless you all.

I am new to for King and Country. I have been hearing Proof Of Your Love and Busted Heart on our local Christian radio. Proff Of Your Love has such a great message. This song in particular has been very challenging to me as a Christian. I mean, think about it. What is it about our life that people will see different from the world, in us? L O V E . To know God is to know LOVE. The love that God has for us, in that He gave His Son, Jesus, to come to this earth, and for Jesus to endure the cup of our sins on the cross, is the ultimate love. I pray that everyone who meets me can see the Love of God in me. As the song says, our love should look like God's love. So many souls are out there in the world wandering around looking for things to satisfy the longings in their soul. They look for it in drugs, sex, music, money... the devil makes so many things look so good, but it is empty. I walked away from the Lord for several years and came back to Him in 2005. There is no turning back. I was searching for things to satisfy my flesh, and I saw that I was on the wrong road. I knew the truth. I was saved when I was 12 but years later, I strayed away from that Love. Let the message of Proof Of Your Love be a challenge to everyone who calls the Lord, their God.

Here's a striking figure: 80-90% of those who make "descisions for Christ" will do what I call backsliding - they will fall away from the Christian faith as though they never were a Christian. Let me make it more real for you, one year a major denomination in the U.S. were able to obtain 294,000 converts in a single year. But when they looked they could only find 14,000 in fellowship. Which means they couldn't account for 280,000 of their "converts." Of course this may give you some curiosity as to what is happening, and I believe that it is what I will explain in this blog post.
In Mark 10:17 and the verses that follow we read an account of a rich man who ran up to Jesus, knelt at His feet, and said "Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" You know, if someone where to run up to me like that, I would be thrilled! Not because they call me master, but because they are eager to hear the Message of the Cross - what Jesus did for them. But Jesus' reaction wasn't what you'd excpect. Let's see what He said to the rich man:
"And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions." (Mark 10:17-22; King James Version).... Read More

Imagine if you will a pull door. You are on one side and the greatest gift you can ever imagine on the other. What is the first thing you are going to do? You will run at the door, break it down do anything to get that gift right? That's what you want more than anything yet when you run at it it doesn't open. In fact it doesn't even move. You are left on the same side of that door as you started wondering how do I get what is on the other side?... Read More
Now I'm going to keep this brief because honestly I'm not sure how to explain this say. God is a pull door. Now before any of you click the back button hear me out. God is a pull door. He is unyielding before those who oppress and his people him, yet lovingly will not send them flying backwards when push comes to shove . God's grace is a gift. It isn't something you can earn or blackmail someone to get. Instead you must ask to receive it. You must pull the door by asking Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and savior. Only then will it open.
So my friends the next time you push on a pull door think about your relationship with Christ and then think about all the times you've pushed against him. Now how well did that work?

The For King and Country concert was one I’d been looking forward to for quite some time. Ever since Winter Jam I had patiently waited for them to come closer to home (Oh who am I kidding), I counted down days until September 16, 2012 came. This was going to be very different from all of the other concerts I’d ever been to. For one thing Skillet was not going to be preforming and for anther this wasn’t in a huge venue or arena that was made to seat thousands. This was going to be in a small church made for about 100 people.... Read More
Right after church we set out for Hudson Community Church which was in the middle of, well nowhere. It took an hour and a half of winding through the wild forests of Ohio before we got there. When we did we just made it on time. My mother, friend and I waited somewhat breathlessly for the Q and A to start. I had never seen these guys before apart of the glimpses I remember from that blur that was Winter Jam. When they entered the room the first thing I remember was just how tall they were and how much they looked alike. I knew they were brothers but it was creepy and cool at the same time that I could have told you that without doing the research on them that I had done. They took their seats for the Q and A on a small stage at the front of the room and after they signed autographs and got ready to go on stage. By this time I was the happiest kid on earth. Not only had I gotten my shirt signed by them they also had signed a copy of their CD Crave for me to keep. I could already tell this was a good night.

So, let me start off wit this blog. This will be like a quick biography. My dad is a pastor at the Down County Baptist Church and my mom works at Giant Eagle. I have a little brother. I am 15, and he is 13. But guess what? I'm not perfect. Not even close. I am a Junior, and planning for college already. I want to be an English Teacher for elementary kids. I have gone through a lot of deserts. I've considered killing myself a couple of times. I have read many books to try and escape things happening around me. You know, I've been a christian since I was 4. Homeschooled until 8th grade. Baptized at a very early age. And I am still learning. My grandfather died last February. He was ice fishing, and the ice broke. He grabbed the bucket he was sitting on and started breaking ice. He was a couple of feet from shore when he died. It hurt. But you know what got me through? God. He is my everything. For King and Country's music helped me too. It helped pick me up. Now I am a writer. I write everything. I put myself out more, and have more friends. God is helping me so much. He's helping me realize how much of a princess I am. And now I help others.... Read More
